Tribal Summer

My sister and I have been working for months on a “Tribal Summer Collection” for our handmade jewelry line, Sistas Jewelry.  We have been finding inspiration everywhere from head wraps to bold prints and exotic beads.  We finished our last photo shoot for the collection yesterday, which we both modeled our pieces for and I painted my nails a delicious tangerine color with a pop of leopard print, using nail stickers for the first time.

I really loved the combination of orange with animal print so I put together today’s outfit with that inspiration in mind.  I finally got to take my new tribal wedges from Target for a spin and played off their texture with the geometric print of my bag and belt, which remind of beautiful baskets from Africa.  I accented with a braided bead necklace, wood earrings and bangles and a batik bone ring from Thailand. I swear I have plenty of non animal print clothing in my closet but somehow it finds its way in to most of my outfits.  I love this combination. The bright color of the dress is complimented by the warmer tones in all the other pieces. Pops of pattern and texture make it fun.  As always, clothing and accessories should be fun and expressive of your inner self.  They are for me!
