It’s Not A Party Without A Party Dress

On Saturday, I hosted a Spring brunch and jewelry party.  I spent the last few weeks hand-making the decorations and planning the menu.  I cooked everything with the help of my sister and niece, to the delight of all in attendance.  It was a great event in the company of a group of lovely ladies.  My favorite part was being able to take my Peter Pilotto for Target dress for a spin, because it’s not a party without a party dress!!

Here are some of the decorations and yummy food from the brunch.

Always quiche, because it’s so good darn yummy! A ham and cheddar, with a vegetarian spinach and mushroom option. In the right corner is another one of my Grandmother’s recipes, Peruvian Potatoes. A hashbrown, cheese, sour cream delicious concoction covered in crispy, buttered corn flakes – always a hit!

This is monkey bread, which my great grandmother used to make for my Dad when he was a child. It is becoming a more frequent guest at food functions, though I am still trying to master the recipe. I’m working on getting it to my great Grandmother’s standard!

I handmade all the tent cards on the food table using the same scrapbook paper and large scalloped label stickers.

This is my Grandma’s recipe that she would always make when I visited her. It’s a staple at all holiday functions and I keep liquid smoke on hand just for this dish.

My niece helped me make and assemble the crepes. We also had lemon curd and powdered sugar crepes (not pictured).

This is from Trader Joe’s and it’s AMAZING!!! Don’t sit too close to it or you’ll watch it disappear!

Handmade garlands using vintage floral print scrapbook paper.

Handmade tissue paper garlands hung from the ceiling. They were so pretty and lightweight that they twirled softly over the table of food. They took me a long time to create with needle and thread but it was worth it.
