Queen of Dragons

I’ve recently fallen back in love with thrifting and visiting the flea markets. I find that I’ve become bored with run of the mill clothing. Pieces from chain stores just don’t do it for me anymore. They aren’t interesting or eclectic enough. Their patterns are predictable and uninspiring for me. I need more and I have been finding it in vintage and thrifted finds.

Not only do I love the hunt of thrifting but the joy of finding that diamond in the rough, that dress or jacket that no one else will be rocking because there is only one! Yes, that is what inspires me. These pieces push my individuality, creativity and styling skills, like this dress.

It’s actually a house coat from the 60’s or 70’s that I found at the Long Beach Flea Market last month. The color called me from a distance and when I saw the bad ass dragon print I knew it had to be mine.

So how do you accessorize a wild printed house coat?? With wilder, bold statement jewelry of course. I added this neckpiece and ornate earrings I bought in India, a stack of bangles and bright contrasting shoe to complete the look.  Just over the top, just pushing the boundaries, makes it just right for me.

  1. What a great combo! When I read the title I thought Game of Thrones! Love the necklace!

    1. Thanks so much Daniela!! The title was a nod and wink to Khalessi though I don’t think she’d rock anything quite this bright!
